Margaret Fearn has more than 30 years of experience in journalism and senior corporate communications roles with major media companies and consulting.

She established Fearnace Media in April 2008, servicing a range of media, audience measurement and advertising clients.

Before starting her consultancy, Margaret was head of corporate communications for Australian commercial television broadcaster, Network 10.

During her seven-year tenure she established 10’s corporate affairs department and advised company management on all aspects of reputation management.

Her media and public relations responsibilities spanned the gamut from program issues to broadcast policy and regulatory matters, as well as corporate and Australian Stock Exchange reporting obligations.

From 1996-2001 Margaret was deputy director of corporate affairs at News Limited, having been transferred to Sydney by News Corporation after three years as head of corporate communications at News Corp’s STAR TV in Hong Kong.

She began her media career in radio at Hong Kong’s Metro News in 1991, starting as a business news writer and subsequently promoted to evening financial news editor and anchor.

Margaret is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and holds an MSc (Econ) from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics and Politics from Mount Holyoke College, USA.
